Michael Pape, PLA

Founder

A Texas native and a Floridian since 1957, Michael attended the US Naval Academy before graduating from UF in ‘77. After starting his career with Sasaki Associates (Watertown, MA), in 1979 he cofounded Land Design Resources in Ocala, then established Michael Pape & Associates PA in 1984. Licensed in 1977, his career as a landscape architect and land planner now spans 40+ years.

Trish Pape, PLA

Land Planner

Born in Kansas and a Floridian since 1960, Trish graduated from both FSU (’77) and UF (’85), becoming a licensed Landscape Architect in 1985. Having previously worked at her father’s Crystal River architectural firm and with McCumber Golf Design (Jacksonville), she now has 40 years’ experience specializing in land planning and site design.

Suzanne Stancil, PLA ASLA

Principal

An Ocala/Marion County native, Suzanne is a University of Florida ‘02 graduate and became a licensed Landscape Architect in ’06. Her 18+ year career has covered the full scope of landscape architecture from professional planning and design to project management and client service. Her recent transition into the role of Principal is a result of her proven ability to lead MPA’s team into the future.

John Olters, PLA

Associate Principal

A native Floridian from Miami, US Navy veteran, and ’93 graduate of UF, John was licensed in 1996. After beginning his career in Ocala, John joined MPA in 2000. His professional experience now spans 25+ years, and his design expertise focuses on golf course landscape and residential design, among other aspects of landscape architecture.

Allison Tucker

Senior Landscape Design Associate

A Sumter County native, Allison is a ‘97 graduate of UF. Having started her career in Boston, she returned to Florida and joined MPA in 1999. Her expertise in landscape architectural design, lighting design, CADD production management, and IT now spans 20+ years.

William “Bumpy” Needham

Contract Administration Associate
ISA Certified Arborist FL-5846A

A Marion County native and ’98 graduate of Florida Gateway College, Bumpy started his career in Ocala and joined MPA in 2004. With a career now spanning 20 years, his expertise ranges from landscape design to construction administration and maintenance consulting. He’s also MPA’s ISA-Certified Consulting Arborist.

Terri Outlaw

Office Manager

A native of Orlando and a resident of Marion County since 1994. Terri is the third longest-tenured member of MPA’s team, having joined us in 1994. Her attention to detail and managerial expertise have been helping the MPA team stay organized and efficient for over 25 years now.

James Taylor

Associate/CADD Technician

A French native, James is one of the newest members of MPA’s CAD team. He moved to Anthony with his family in 2000, and spends his time outside work volunteering at the Ocala Civic Theatre, performing on stage in musicals and dramas since 2014.

Riley Zylstra

Associate/CADD Technician

A native Floridian, Riley graduated from Ocala’s Forest High School in 2020. Riley joined the MPA team in 2021 to assist with CAD production and is going to College of Central Florida at night.

Jeffrey Stultz

Landscape Design Associate

A Michigan native and Florida resident since 1985, Jeffrey recently joined MPA full time after completing a Sustainability and the Built Environment degree at UF in the spring of 22′. After more than a two decade career with Publix Supermarkets, Jeffrey chose to find a new career path that fueled his creativity and design passion. Although Jeffrey is new to the landscape architecture field, he hopes to apply his knowledge of sustainability to the design process and explore LARE requirements for future professional opportunities.

John Svercek

Irrigation Designer

Like most, John had big dreams after leaving the University of Florida, and like most his dreams were crushed when he was not drafted into the NBA. He then picked himself up and learned all about photosynthesis and how to keep plants green, which it turns out is directly influenced by irrigation. Who knew?

Nick Yurcak

Associate/CADD Technician

Born and raised in Ocala, Nick joined MPA in 2022 to further prosper in a Cad career and has become an important part of the drafting team.
