Services
MPA takes an individual approach to the specific requirements of each project and client, resulting in a record of successful collaboration with other design professionals and a host of awards from ASLA, FNGLA, and other organizations.
The firm’s capabilities cover a broad scope of services–from large-scale land use planning through site design and construction administration–encompassing a wide range of projects in the following areas:
Land Planning
In the arena of comprehensive land use and regulatory planning, MPA’s services include the development of land use regulations and preparation of public-private design guidelines and development criteria for local governments, as well as for private community developers. Michael Pape and other key personnel also have past and current experience as appointed and elected local government officials, which lends a valuable perspective to the firm’s work in this area. For private development projects, MPA’s services often commence with land planning of commercial, institutional, recreational, and residential uses. MPA’s approach includes determining program requirements and development feasibility, providing community liaison, and coordinating all areas of project planning and design. Experience in land use amendments and development permitting has given MPA a strong background in working with other design and technical professionals.
Site Planning
MPA offers site planning services for all project types, including industrial, office, commercial, institutional, planned communities, single family homes, and environmental mitigation and reclamation. For such projects, design considerations typically include site grading and drainage, circulation and parking, site furniture and lighting, pedestrian systems and hardscape, entryways and signage, water features, landscaping, and irrigation. MPA is often responsible for establishing the organization of the layout by siting the buildings and other elements for efficiency and aesthetics.
Landscape Architecture
MPA has a strong project resume reflecting all aspects of landscape architecture including that of urban planning and design – central business district studies, streetscape design and redevelopment, and historic preservation. Such services often include analysis and evaluation studies, public liaison, preparation of design guidelines and zoning regulations, and design and construction phase services for parks, plazas, parking and street improvements, and other urban scale projects.
Park and recreation projects typically involve all aspects of MPA’s capabilities outlined above, and the firm has planned and designed an unequaled number and park and recreation facilities throughout Central Florida.
